This was my costume at the costume party in November. I was supposed to be Lady Jane Grey, the nine day queen. Here I am as "Maid Marion" (or maybe as a pirate lady?? lol). Country peasant - and feeling flowery. The skirt was my sewing project when I took sewing lessons from a woman named Turzah. I had always wanted a skirt that reached the ground for dress-up, so she modified a circle skirt pattern to be longer. Same day as above, different skirt (which I made several years later). Doesn't my Mom's homemade bread look great? I served it at the costume party, and it was a tremendous success. We broke it in pieces instead of slices, like they did in the old days, and I tell you, it really DOES improve the flavor. Amazing what you can do with a prom dress, and they aren't that expensive at thrift stores. I was trying to look like one of my favorite authors, Louisa May Alcott. Here I am pretending to be "normal" LOL |
