Spring flowers - June 2002 May Irises Old Photos This crayfish was napping in the bottom of the creek when I scooped her up in a bucket and took her picture. The common name for a crayfish around this area is crawdad. This one is a female, as you can tell by the claws (which are the same size. The male has one claw that is considerably larger). The water skipper was also found on Mill Creek. He was very photogenic, and I snapped lots of pictures of him. Here is a picture of Shasta, the sweet little kitty that adopted our family a few years ago. Her world is a lonely one, since she will never hear even the faintest sounds. Nevertheless, she is among the happiest cats I've ever had. In the morning she haunts the meadows and fields, while afternoons are spent exploring the banks of the creek. This photo of a young doe was taken from the driveway. It was in June, 2001, and I've seen her often, since she has very little fear of people. She sneaks by the front door every morning, on her way down to the creek, and I've seen her out in the fields, grazing with the horses. The blossoms bloomed around the same time. I'm not sure what they are exactly, but they were beautiful. This is Gloria when she was a kitten. She has true blue eyes. |
